Cast Out Demons – The Normal Christian Life

Cast Out Demons – The Normal Christian Life

Come out of him now. Come out, come out in
Jesus’ name. Every year thousands travel to the
middle of nowhere, to experience everything this world has to offer. At this festival many overdose on drugs and some die Can God move in a place like this? My friends believe He can. Average Christians measure themselves by other Christians. A normal Christian imitates Christ. Radical Christianity is normal Christianity. This is the Normal Christian Life. Some friends of mine from Melbourne invited me on a radical assignment. I couldn’t resist. So I travelled from Brisbane to be a part. Last minute preparations are underway at one of Australia’s biggest psychedelic festivals Shortly around 8,000 people will
gather to take part. Meet Steve and Jahleel They are hosting a tent unlike anything this festival has ever seen. Jahleel believes it’s an opportunity to
reach the unreached for Jesus. Jesus would be hanging out with these guys. Jesus was hanging out with the publicans, with the prostitutes, with the sinners. This is where Jesus would be. Steve is no stranger to this scene. In fact before he was a Christian, he almost died at this very festival. Someone came out of the darkness and
they put on my tongue this very powerful drug called LSD, and they put enough for about 30 or 40 people. And I was walking around, it was a very dark night. I got bitten twice on the foot by two big bull ants, and then my leg was covered with bull ants. They weren’t really there. Then I ran off into the darkness because it was frightening and it was so strong that the stars were burning my eyes. This is kind of “normalish” stuff that happens at these festivals. Demons just take them for the ride of their life, but that’s why we’re in here. If someone in the state that I was in gets touched, which I’m sure will, it’s just awesome. And with so many searching for the truth in all the wrong places, Steve and Jahleel are convinced that Jesus is the only way. Yeshua is the Way, the Truth and the Life. Full stop. There is no other way. And these guys are looking for the way, the truth and the life. And they’ve been given everything else but that. The aim of this tent space is simple. Reach this festival with the love and power of Jesus. To make this possible, Jahleel and Steve have brought a team of friends and family. Hey Grace, where’s Yeshua? In there.
– In there. No, me!
– Oh, in you, OK. Don’t pick your nose we’re on camera. We’re on camera, don’t pick it. Thousands start to gather and are drawn to the usual attractions of this festival. But in this tent, it’s the presence of God that’s drawing people. Before we know it the tent is full of people, hearing the Gospel, being healed, and encountering Jesus. Some people are utterly shocked by God’s
miraculous power. Jahleel, being a Jewish Christian himself, finds some amazing opportunities to share with other Jews, showing them that Jesus is their Messiah. We grabbed a Bible, we showed him Isaiah 53. It was a Hebrew-English Bible so that he could read it. He was like, “Wow, this is talking about the Messiah.” As the first night draws to a close,
many have already come to Jesus, including some of our new Jewish friends. As Steve shared earlier, when a person abuses
drugs, it can be an invitation for the demonic. Demons just take them
for the ride of their life. If someone in the state that I was in
gets touched, which I’m sure will, it’s just, it’s awesome. The next morning that’s
exactly what happened. Meet Dylan. Dylan has been wandering
around all night long on a drug trip oppressed by a demon. In the morning I was on my
way over to the main tent when I saw this guy
approaching me. He didn’t look out of the ordinary
for this kind of festival, but little did I know the
night he had just had. What were you doing
this morning bro? I began talking to Dylan and as soon as
I mentioned Jesus he started to convulse. So I commanded that demon
to be quiet and it was. Dylan was surprise by this,
and he wanted help. So he came into the tent, where he
repented and gave his life to Jesus. At this point we needed to head down
the road and Dylan decided to come. When we were in the car, Dylan was
once again tormented by the demon. Mark 16:17 says, “These signs will
follow those who believe.” And the first thing listed is that
they will cast out demons. So that’s exactly what we did. Be gone. I said, “Get out”! I said, “Be gone, in Jesus’ name!”
Come out of him. Come out of him now. Come out. Come out, in Jesus’ name! Leave! In a moment the battle is over,
and the demon is gone. Dylan looks completely different. Even he can see it. Hey Dylan, look at me. Do you realize you look different? I look like a happy young person
and not like I have… Yeah I know, Have a look in the mirror. Look at me bro. That’s a different person. As Dylan stares at the new
creation God has just made him It’s overwhelming. Thank you Jesus. As I look at Dylan, I’m sobered
by the reality of our calling: To rescue those
trapped in the dark. As Christians we are not to be
intimidated by the demonic, but know, greater is He who is in us,
than he who is in the world. And knowing this, we are
never to forget the reality of the spiritual battle
for every soul. What would you tell your friends if you
could tell them anything, right now? Demons are real, and I had one. And as we head back to the
festival, I can’t help but wonder what miracles await us there. There is no place that’s too dark
for His light to shine. Thank You so much!
