hey let’s talk about the time when we
took your dad ghost hunting and they didn’t know it very hahahahahaha well hello folks welcome to another
episode of our haunted travels I am your host Sean Donnelly and I’m your co-host
fairy and Donnelly that’s right it’s the show on YouTube where everything counts
but the points don’t matter anyways in this episode we are talking about Fort
Ligonier Fort Ligonier it is panting Dean number one 975 and it is located in
Ligonier Pennsylvania mm-hmm the next thing is the history all right so watch
this quick video hopefully you stay with us and come on back and we’ll talk about
the paranormal and our experiences at Fort Ligonier so take a watch the history of Fort Ligonier began in
September of 1758 and was concluded in March of 1766 embracing the period of
the French and Indian War today the story of this time period is told
through the remarkable Portland air museum exhibits and a fully
reconstructed and restored fortification in the middle of the eighteenth century
two European powers Great Britain and France contested ownership of the vast
inner basin of North America the resulting conflict began known in
America as the French and Indian War which developed into a global struggle
for empire layer called the Seven Years War victories over the Virginia Colonel
George Washington at Fort Necessity in 1754 and British General Edward Braddock
at the Monongahela River in 1755 gave control of the strategic ports of the
Ohio River which is modern-day Pittsburgh to the French this site was
the Gateway to the West in 1758 William Pitt British Secretary
of State for the southern department assigned to John Forbes a Scottish
Brigadier General in America the task of securing the backcountry which meant
seizing fort duquesne french post at the forks Forbes demonstrated the care that
military professionals used to protect an army proceeding through enemy country
by favoring a European strategy called protected advance the deliver careful
march across hostile territory was advised consolidating advances by
building post and supply depots fort lagaa near was the final post on Forbes
Road in the staging area in the south western Pennsylvania to attack Fort
Duquesne the most elaborate fortification undertaken in Forbes
expedition was Fort Ligonier the post at Laurel Hanna by 1758 General John Forbes
was the daunting task of seasoned Fort
Duquesne the French Citadel at the forks he ordered construction of a new road
across Pennsylvania guarded by a chain of fortifications the final link between
posts at Royal khana 50 miles from his objective to serve as a supply depot in
staging area for a British American army of 5,000 troops the fort was constructed
in September of 1758 by late October Washington had arrived at Lowell Hana
but not before the defeat of British forces at Fort Duquesne on September
14th in the successful defense of Lowell Hana from the French attack on October
12 heavily outnumbered the French abandoned fort duquesne which Forbes
occupied with November 25th he designated the site Pittsburgh in honor
of Secretary of State William Pitt torps also named Royal honnor Fort Ligonier
after his superior Sir John Ligonier commander and chief and great friend
several distinct types of armed fighting men served the British crown during the
French and Indian War and were present at Fort Ligonier the King’s regulars

Americans the first Highland battalion Montgomery’s Highlanders in the 77th
regiment of a Royal Artillery attachment the 94th
regiment of foot Royal Welsh volunteers forty second Royal Highland regiment of

these troops were from Pennsylvania and Virginia with detachments from the lower

a wide gap from the other ranks or enlisted who held a position something

barracks quartermaster guard room underground magazine commissary and
office quarters immediately outside the fort is general Forbes hub an outer
retrenchment 1600 feet long surrounds the fort other external buildings
include the Pennsylvania Hospital a smokehouse a sawmill they covens and a
log dwelling in a forge ok Fort Ligonier another one of those little hidden gems
that we didn’t even expect we would catch anything I know and we we took my
dad on this one that’s right it was one of those trips were you know we took
that out and go on a little excursion and we decided to take our recorders
with us and let him roll it happens caught some EVPs yes we did yeah my dad
for those if you don’t know my dad which most of you probably wouldn’t but for
those of you do my dad don’t know my dad he likes to take pictures everywhere he
goes he likes to be in pictures with things at the aid at the locations yeah
so we I put out a photo video about that and you’ll see he’s in some of them
Peters yeah because I wanted what was there but there’s not a picture without
him in it so did we love it that didn’t tweet about 50 of them out but anyways
but we took him and we were we were taking some pictures and one of the EVPs
we caught we were saying okay everybody like we’re gonna take this picture over
here and what did it say getting the picture so they knew we were taking a
picture picture is one of those that’s one of those EVPs hey I’ll put a link to
it right here but it’s also really cool because it
shows more of an intelligent yes definitely intelligent it knew we were
there knew we were taking pictures and I if memory serves correctly we caught
that EVP in the when you walk in not to garrison it was like the storage oh I
thought it would I thought the one we were talking about was the one where we
walked up and it was one of the first rooms on the left that had bed only or
satine that’s the second EVP the second one said something about the bunks were
much dirtier than the officers the one that had all the sack of flowers and the
barrels and that’s where they’re getting a picture oh okay okay
that was definitely on the other side god yes okay I wasn’t expecting to catch
anything yeah he scoured the photos looking for orbs or something yeah and I
just like to record when I go on tours and when I go to locations will read
like what’s on the placards and stuff like that that’s why I tend to do that
even if we’re not ghost hunting right and so technically we weren’t really
ghost hunting that day but we we kind of recorded anyway yeah when I heard that I
was I was like well wait a minute but that just happened and I’m like wait is
was that dad saying get in the picture with it and I backed up and no he you
could tell his voice was like on a different you know actually I think he
may have walked out of the room or something when he did that but I didn’t
put all the recording out there for that but that wasn’t him yeah I wasn’t it
definitely wasn’t my dad yeah it wasn’t me it was a good one wasn’t you um why
do you think the place is on it it’s a fork and there would have been lives
lost right now we put out a video a little while ago about General Braddock
and that ties in with Fort Ligonier too so I’ll put a link to that video that whole story about General Braddock
and George Washington and Fort Duquesne and and all that stuff that all ties
together their Fort Ligonier was like a stopping point for supplies and stuff
before they marched forward so quite interesting I mean historically I’m not
really into a lot of you know war history and battles and that kind of
stuff Gettysburg though you know I am you could just get lost and have a whole
career on that but just tying these haunted locations and these stories
together it’s it’s it’s really cool trying to think the first something else
I wanted to say about Fort like in here you have something to say
well I’d Fort Ligonier there’s there’s the fort out back and then up in the
main building they they have a museum and things like in display cases and so
on up up front and there’s some things that were haunted in that area as well
that’s right um and I didn’t put that in the videos so let’s just flip back here I think most of the claims that we found
were related to the actual museum yeah not the fort itself but we did get the
EVP recording so yeah eyes have been seen and portraits hanging in the museum
apparitions have been seen walking around and strange sounds inside the
museum late at night after that close yeah so
that is how you know when I started doing research for Fort Ligonier to
actually add it to panic D once we caught some EVP that’s really awesome
we’re gonna have to put this in the database but you know I I don’t like to
add a location into the database if it’s just based on what we found I would love
to find something out there to corroborate right right some other
claims so in order to get into the database you know I have to find the
history of the location some sort of folklore story and at least one
paranormal claim it has to have an address we have to have a picture
looking at it so there are some things that have to be in place in order to add
it into the database and when I found that I’m like jackpot I know and then we
we kind of were Sam will Chi we should have like spent more time looking at
some of these things in the museum that oh man I tell you what we find out after
the fact yes but wait see that’s like there are people who want to have all
their research done before they go so they don’t miss things and we do
sometimes find things out later and we’re like oh we missed that you know I
can’t wait to go back and then right but at the same time there’s there’s the
other side too where we like to go and experience it and then first time feel
it get it you know for yourself and then you know go back a secondary time I do I
and I don’t have this in a database but I do remember one other
that kind of I you know I keep saying this all the time you’re probably here
several more times in these videos I am NOT sensitive at all but I do get that
feeling where you’re where you’re being launched you’ve heard me say then yeah
especially when we do cemeteries and stuff like that like I just have this
sense where it’s just think you know I don’t know if you ever get that feeling
but when you you don’t like somebody staring at you and you know like hey
what do you know what’s the problem when you went down into the what was below I
know what you’re talking about yeah I didn’t go down there you didn’t
know no no because my my knee was bald man I didn’t have my brace yeah dad went
down steps and went down there but I was standing like across from the buildings
where we caught the EVPs and nobody else was around I was waiting for you guys to
come back and I’m looking around I’m taking pictures and I kept getting that
feeling like I kept looking I’m like who’s over there who’s like staring at
me and I’m wondering if it was those entities that were like you know where
are they going he’s coming yeah they messing with their stuff down
there you know that kind of thing thought yeah I do remember that when you
guys went down there because I’m like well first of all it was looking for
water because it was god-awful hot but I would not do well in the desert the fact
that what I’ve done it this is full of vodka no I’m in water he doesn’t even
drink don’t let him kid you I go through about four of these a day easy drink a
lot of water but you drink four of those at night once we come home from work
what are you talking about a day again the channel were
I have never correct but alright do you have anything else you would like to add
about Fort Lee there we go there’s my heart took me wanna figure on is do it
on the screen I thing else you were like the ad while for lady there um
the facility is actually quite well up kept I thought I can’t remember did we
have to pay to go in there you take care of that yes we paid to go in or how much
was it wasn’t that much virgin yeah it was it wasn’t expensive yeah it’s for
anybody private Association it’s not like a national park yeah private yeah
some really cool stuff in the museum yeah and then we drove into town and we
had lunch in a little cafe it was a really old building it was really cool I
don’t kind of thought it might be haunted but remember that I do we had
burgers that the one water was hard to find quarters yes kind of find parking and we went through
the train depot – yeah that’s a busy day Ligonier train depot which I was trying
to look hey if anybody knows about any type of paranormal claims at that train
depot in Ligonier let me know put them in a comment section because we do have
pictures we did stop there but I can’t find anything so I have to have some
paranormal claims anyways if you liked this video give us
