Riding the Lincoln Train – Star Barn – Paranormal History

September 4, 2019 5 By William Hollis

My Uncle Shawn and Aunt Marianne went on the
Abraham Lincoln Funeral Train and And all I get to do is intro this lousy video repeat come in so if I pull the string
two times he has to toot the horn two times or the steam engines whistle two
times are you ready listen carefully all right
what railroaders call a drink they don’t call it a train beause they call it a
conscious process it’s a name is Mindy railroading since the early 1800s they
don’t refer to restrain those concepts as three piece of equipment on dish
that’s an inch masters car you’re riding it and a private car just attack
in part we’ll start off a little bit about the engine now we get from
crossing the blow the whistle on we’ll stop talking because I mean listen we
are a fully operational members so we must obey all railroad rules and
regulations so we will blow the whistle ring the bell and we’ll take care of
everything to make sure you guys are safe is it 25 miles an hour we could get
hurt we call all right now the engine the engine is an American type
locomotive this locomotive is actually a reproduction it was built in 2008 it’s a
reproduction of an engine it was used at a commentary important you tall anyone
know what happened to commentary you can point Utah in 1869 my railroad guys there we go the Transcontinental River
you got the second Chevy for the day you can pick it up at the amusements and yes
it was the first transcontinental railroad I’m shooting it up President
Lincoln signed the Act it actually started the Transcontinental Railroad it
can linked and east coast to the west coast so this ancient engineer is a full
reproduction of that hinge because the existing engine is no longer now
Transcontinental Railroad how did you get across the United States before the
railroad you either walk from a Conestoga wagon or more
how long do they jump to get across America when you didn’t have a train if
you make it six to nine months the bridge on everybody the wave on this
side to mark bridge launcher and traffic person we affectionately call him our
trolls because they’re protecting the bridge in the track but it is a
necessary thing and he is not texting right now so I feel really really good
about that so moving on the car that you’re in here
is a wood reproduction barber Carver’s used to travel from Chicago Illinois to
San Francisco and if I have more time we’ll go back to the ancient shop but I
don’t want to cut short get to the main attraction the engine can this car was
built from builder plants the windows don’t go up all the way because they
didn’t have case of winners at the time and the windows only go as high as this
is really because they help her bus alright the last part we have here is
the link in the car now what’s he starting out as the Lincoln funeral car
who started out as the Lincoln Park as President Lincoln actually commissioned
that car to be built so we could travel around the country visit the
constituents after the Second World War now he commissioned the car he built it
was being built and he was going to tour on April 15 that night in April the 14th
he went to Forks Tanner and his sister tell us he never made it through the
night because it was assassinated that night so the car never got to see it as
a presidential passenger car what it did is it was recommissioned to a funeral
car more than act of Congress the White House staff and the mrs. Lincoln so the
only differences in the cars from what it was designed to what was used his
femoral car is they removed one of the rooms because when he was traveling back
to his internment in Illinois they took one of the rooms out to make room for
his youngest son would die many girls later both are more on the train at the
time now the reason we have the Lincoln car and it’s a reproduction the original now the side note we can actually tell
what engineer it is by how it blows the whistle
they all have to blow the whistle the same amount of tooth but each one has
their own finger touch to what they do so anyway the reason the car had to be
reproduced because after run Lincoln’s funeral train the car was sold to the
Union Pacific grammar from the West Coast it was taken out there and they
had great ideas of making it a money producer that didn’t happen it was told
several times different people tried to exabyte at state fairs local events that
just didn’t work out so eventually they stood in a railroad
yard with older cars when I was fine for a while but back in that day a lot of
times farmers would burn fields off to get them ready for spring crop so the
two young man who were trying to burn the field but hey can we field a really
really big fire be home so they build a really big fire and the
fire got out of control and it burn across the tracks and burn to train to
the ground so that’s why the car is not in existence and that’s why it was
rebuilt to complete specifications it is today
now the funeral train the fuel train after President Lincoln passed away he
was left in the Capitol Rotunda for a while to be pursued by mourners and was
then loaded onto the train and he was taken north into New York New York City
throughout they actually traveled over this veteran wrote that they were riding
on the tracks now eventually through Chicago and the noise was final resting
place now that took weeks and weeks and weeks to get traveling all that just did
anybody know why the train never went south to Washington DC now there’s
plenty of tracks the reason why was because south of Washington DC was the
Confederacy they just lost the war and they weren’t about to make comedies
destroyed your way of life now every night was brought back to the Train
loaded on the train car and there’s a little Airy shaker a favorite diamond
mine called The Iceman his job was to bring buckets of ice into the car the
president over night and remove the ice in the morning now he was involved but
much about economy they didn’t know how much it would work 40 years after the
general trailer and when they finally got the final place agree on where one
time him they decided to open the casket when they opened the casket their only
thing it was missing on does anyone have any Wow they even got the eight Russell’s on
ever they axles yeah you notice the car doesn’t have a number
on United States a number on it I actually was telling him I said oh I
see they put United States on here I bet you nobody knows what that means let us know if you like this video by
