A haunted house is favorite recipe of the
horror movies. But the real cases are still much mysterious
and baffling. Five houses, listed hereafter, are the most
haunted of all with incredible backstories, and transcending mysteries. Something inside them, as they claim, is not
normal. #5 Old Vicarage
Borgvattnet is a small Swedish village is renowned for the haunted house The Old Vicarage. In 1927, when the chaplain Nils Hedlund resided
here, his laundry was torn by an invisible force. Rudolf Tangden, a priest saw an old woman
dressed in grey appear in a room, and vanish in front of his eyes. Otto Lindgren, had paranormal sounds with
moving objects. On one occasion a woman staying in the guestroom
was awoken in the middle of the night to see 3 old women sitting staring at her. She quickly turned on the light and they were
still visible, though blurry. Erick Lindgren reported being thrown out of
his chair regularly by an unseen force. The current building is a restaurant/ guest
house. If you dare to stay the entire night you’ll
receive an overnight-stay-certificate. #4 Whaley House
In San Diego, California, the Whaley House is called “the most haunted house in the U.S.” It was once a cemetery. The house is closed, but from outside people
may witness second story windows open or close randomly. Sometimes a scent of a cigar and sometimes
a female scent is often felt in the air with no possible origin. The spirit of a young girl who was accidentally
hanged on the property, is seen frequently. And Jim Robinson, a thief who clubbed to death
can be heard around the stairways. The red-haired daughter of Whaley appears
in a realistic form and often mistaken for a live child. Ghost hunter Hanz Holzer considered the Whaley
to be one of the most reliably haunted structures in the United States. #3 White House
Unknown to most people, white house is among the world’s most haunted houses. Most residents witness the paranormal and
the list still is longer than many hoses much scared. Winston Churchill, witnessed Lincoln standing
by the fireplace. He refused to sleep in that room again. Lincoln was also sighted by Teddy Roosevelt,
Herbert Hoover, and Dwight Eisenhower; First Ladies Jacquie Kennedy and Ladybird Johnson;
and more. President Andrew Jackson is believed to have
haunted the Rose Room. White House employees reportedly hearing his
hearty laughter in a fit of rage, swearing violently. #2 Ancient Ram Inn, Gloucestershire, England
Built in 1145, the Ancient Ram Inn is the most haunted house in the world. The tales of child sacrifices, devil worship,
and evil spirits are believed to be behind the terrifying happenings inside. The Inn was built on the intersection of 2
ley lines, what many people believe is a conductor for spiritual activity. In addition, an ancient Pagan burial ground
was there – 5,000 years ago. People would often flee in the middle of the
night, seeing full bodied apparitions in their rooms, the feeling of being touched/pulled,
disembodied voices, and the the general feeling of evil. John, the current owner and resident of the
Ram Inn, felt a presence grab his arm, before being dragged out of bed and across the room,
in 1968. And later he found evidences of devil worship:
two child skeletons underneath the staircase, as well as broken daggers. #1 Monte Cristo Homestead
This house, instead of giving you sights of the dead, literary kills people. An old event included a mentally ill man Harold
chained up in the caretaker’s cottage for 40 years. He was found curled up next to the body of
his dead mother, and sent to a mental institute where he died shortly after. The Crawley family owned and resided in the
property. During this time they witnessed many deaths:
the tragic death of a young child dropped down the stairs. A maid fallen from the balcony, and a stable
boy apparently burned to death on the property. The tragedy didn’t end with Crawley’s. The house was left in
1948, it was taken over by a group of caretakers, one of whom got murdered in the same caretaker’s
cottage. The house is abandoned again.
